Is Counter-Strike 2 Coming to Xbox?

There is a lot of speculation about Counter-Strike 2 becoming a multi-platform title and players are wondering if the game will make it to Xbox. Counter-Strike 2 was announced for Steam, macOS, and SteamOS (Linux) and no other platforms have been confirmed yet so far. Currently, the only official console that can run the game is the Steam Deck, which is Valve’s own handheld console capable of running a large library of Steam games.

There is no official word about Counter Strike 2 coming to Xbox

Counter-Strike 2 is meant to be played using a mouse and keyboard and the game does not support controllers properly. The only console that is capable of running the game right now is the Steam deck which is still a subpar option compared to playing it on a PC. You have to settle for a small 1280x800 display with a 60 frames per second cap which is a far cry from what even older laptops are capable of delivering.

When it comes to other console platforms like PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, players will need to wait for an official announcement by Valve in case a console version of Counter-Strike 2 does see the light of day. Until then, you are restricted to macOS, Steam and SteamOS (Linux) for the time being. 

We would not recommend being too hopeful about an Xbox release of Counter-Strike 2 until Valve officially makes an announcement. The closest experience you can get is probably Valorant, which is rumored to release on PlayStation and Xbox sometime in the future based on Riot Games’ recent job listings.
