AC Milan Partners With Sorare For Blockchain Based Fantasy Football

AC Milan has partnered up with Sorare for an exclusive multi-year partnership that labeled AC Milan as a ‘premium partner'. This partnership will allow users to leverage the player-owned fantasy sports utilizing non-Fungible tokens (NFTs) as the club’s Official NFT Fantasy Football Game Partner.

What does this deal entail for players?

With this deal, AC Milan will enter Sorare’s NFT ecosystem. This will allow users to collect, trade and play with official licensed digital cards starting from the 2022-23 season. AC Milan is following in the footsteps of some of the other Italian Clubs through Sorare’s partnership with other Italian Serie A leagues.

This deal is distinct to the other deals as AC Milan is described as a premium partner and this is for good reason. AC Milan is working on expanding their Web3 portfolio. Previously, the club entered the NFT space in April with a 3D NFT of the club’s popular jersey from South Sudan that was sold for charity.

The club also was the first to broadcast a game on the Metaverse against Fiorentina. This became the world’s first football match to be broadcasted on the Metaverse, allowing for a 360-degree virtual experience.
