Over the last few years, we have seen plenty of blockchain-based projects come out. A lot of recent projects have got lost in the crowd but Ember Sword, a blockchain-based MMORPG game has cemented itself as one of the most anticipated projects of recent times.

Drawing inspiration from popular titles such as World of Warcraft and Runescape, Ember Sword hopes to make MMORPG games more accessible to a variety of users by optimizing the game mechanics and hardware requirements. Ember sword hopes to implement blockchain technology to give users ownership of their assets in a common shared world.

What can you do in Ember Sword?

Ember Sword has quickly gained massive user popularity for being one of the first blockchain-based MMORPG games. Unlike other games, Ember Sword does not require players to choose particular classes. Users can in fact experience the entirety of the game through a single character. All in-game actions like crafting, combat, leveling up skills, can be accomplished by a single character. This makes the game more user friendly and removes any entry level barrier so that both beginners and experienced players can enjoy the game.

Ember Sword is set in the fantasy world of Thanabus. Thanabus is divided into four distinct nations – Solarwood, Duskeron, Sevrend, and Ediseau. All nations are fundamentally different with each posing a different challenge to users. Ember Sword features challenging Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay along with intense Player vs Player (PvP) combat mode, there is also a robust in-game economy with well developed story line to keep users engaged.

NFTs in Ember Sword

Much like any other blockchain game, Ember sword uses a NFT technology for in-game asset trading. NFTs in Ember Sword can be broadly divided into two main segments – Land and Collectibles.

Thanabus has a total of 160,000 plots. The current sale comprises land in Solarwood nation which consists of around 40,000 plots. There are different types and sizes of plots available such as Regular plots, Settlement, Town and City. Land owners will also receive real-life revenue produced by the estate the plot belongs to.

Collectibles on the other hand are purely cosmetic items that do not enhance your gameplay. Users get these as they venture across the open world and participate in various PvP and PvE fights. These collectibles can later be sold to other players for the EMBER tokens.

How to play Ember Sword

Ember Sword is not available for public access just yet. Players who participated in Land sale and hold a Ember Sword badge will be the first ones allowed to test the pre-alpha version which is coming out shortly. The official release of the game is expected to be in 2023 but no exact date has been confirmed just yet.
