Axie Infinity SLP Farming Guide After Adventure Mode Update

Axie Infinity is a blockchain-based game that has gained massive popularity among gamers. In certain ways, Axie Infinity draws a lot of inspiration from popular titles like Pokemon. In Axie Infinity, users can battle in PvP (Player versus Player) or PvE (Player versus Environment) modes using fantasy monsters called Axie.

Axie Infinity is built upon the Ethereum blockchain and it uses two important tokens for its in-game mechanics - $AXS and $SLP. The $AXS token is used for asset trading. Up until season 19, Adventure mode was an easy way to earn more SLP tokens. In adventure mode, players battle monsters in PvE mode to gain XP. Winning in Adventure mode, also allows you to earn SLP tokens. But after the season 20 update, playing in Adventure mode no longer yields SLP.

How to earn SLP in Axie Infinity?

After severe changes to the Axie Infinity game mechanics, the $SLP tokens are now available only in Arena mode. In Arena mode, players battle each other in a PvP-style format and the winner is rewarded with $SLP tokens. The number of $SLP tokens users get is based on their MMR. Simply put, the higher MMR you have, the more SLP tokens you receive after winning.

The SLP token distribution relies on the energy a user possesses. Each battle in the arena mode uses one energy. Depending on the number of Axies you have, you have a certain amount of energy. Once users burn through that energy, you won't be able to obtain SLP tokens even if you win a match in the arena mode.

Another way to earn SLP tokens is to climb through the ranks. At the end of the season, depending upon your position on the leaderboard you get rewarded SLP tokens. Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity, announced via its blog that the number one player on the leaderboard will receive 203,147 $AXS tokens.

What can you do with SLP tokens?

Axie infinity sees a lot of players grinding the game to earn maximum $SLP tokens. $SLP tokens are fundamentally used to facilitate the breeding of the Axies. All players start with three Axies but to breed them, users need the $SLP tokens. Any Axies that you breed can subsequently be sold on the Axie Infinity Marketplace for $AXS tokens. Apart from this, you can also sell your hard-earned $SLP and $AXS tokens on crypto exchange platforms for fiat currency.
