PUBG Mobile India’s Social Media Accounts Temporarily Renamed and Removed
  • PUBG Mobile's official social media accounts were renamed to Battlegrounds Mobile IN and removed earlier today.
  • The recent changes fall in line with a hidden creative that was discovered which suggests the India-exclusive version of PUBGM is called Battlegrounds Mobile.
  • KRAFTON is yet to make an official statement on the matter and a release date is unavailable.

The official PUBG Mobile India accounts on Facebook and Instagram temporarily had their names and links changed to Battlegrounds Mobile IN. Soon after the changes, the pages were removed completely. The change was discovered just days after a hidden creative was discovered which suggested that Indian version of PUBG Mobile will be called Battlegrounds Mobile. While these changes suggest that an announcement is imminent, fans should keep their expectations in check as the KRAFTON is yet to make any official announcements. The studio has confirmed that an Indian version of PUBG Mobile is in the works but we do not have an official release date just yet.

Is Battlegrounds Mobile Going to Be Announced Soon?

The recent name changes to PUBG Mobile India’s social media pages fall in line with previous likes. Multiple domains which bear resemblance to the Battlegrounds Mobile India name were purchased by Krafton Inc on March 18th, 2021. These include:

  • battlegroundsmin.com
  • battlegroundsmindia.com
  • battlegroundsmobilein.com
  • battlegroundsmobileindia.com

While it is likely that Battlegrounds Mobile is the title of the upcoming India-exclusive version of PUBG Mobile, we do not have an official confirmation from the studio just yet. Fans in India may have to wait a very long time until the game is approved and available to download. It is unknown why KRAFTON updated its pages and removed them.

KRAFTON’s made a statement to AFK Gaming about an India-exclusive version of PUBG in India. However, KRAFTON is yet to confirm a release date. Recently, at the India Gaming Conference 2021, KRAFTON’s Head-Corporate Development Sean Hyunil Sohn talked about PUBG Mobile’s re-release stating that “we will work hard to make it happen.”

While all of the new information may be exciting, fans should wait for an official word from KRAFTON about the future of PUBG Mobile in India and its potential rebranding to Battlegrounds Mobile. KRAFTON announced a $100 million investment last year to "cultivate the local video game, esports, entertainment, and IT industries". The studio's Indian subsidiary also donated INR 15,000,000 towards COVID relief efforts in India. It has confirmed that it is working on a new India-exclusive title, it remains to be seen if it is approved by the Indian government.
