Recently, Wild Rift Patch 2.2 was unveiled by Riot Games through a Dev Diary video. The announcement has revealed a ton of new content and improvements for the popular mobile MOBA game. The Wild Rift Patch 2.2 is expected to be released on March 30, 2021 and will include five new champions, new items, in-game improvements, and more. The highly anticipated ARAM game mode will also be released in the upcoming patch update, along with the latest and improved position preference system. 5 new champions are coming to Wild Rift in Patch 2.2.

Galio

  • Expected release date: April 1, 2021
  • Role: Tank

Rammus

  • Expected release date: April 22, 2021
  • Role: Tank

Skill Changes:

  • Passive: Rolling Armordillo

Rammus Rolls into a ball and gains 32 movement speed when out of combat.

  • 1st Skill: Powerball

Activates his passive and grants up to 110% bonus movement speed for six seconds. Hitting enemies knocks them back and slows them by 40%. 

  • Ultimate: Soaring Slam

Slams the ground and creates aftershocks that slow enemies in the area. 

Kha’Zix

  • Expected release date: May 6, 2021
  • Role: Assassin

Rengar

  • Expected release date: May 6, 2021
  • Role: Tank

Renekton

  • Expected release date: May 12, 2021
  • Role: Tank

New Icon Updates

Wild Rift will now have matching item icons with the League of Legends PC.

New Item Updates

New tank items have been added, and a few tweaks to other existing items were also made in Wild Rift Patch 2.2.

New Tank Items for Wild Rift

Frozen Heart

  • 70 Armor
  • 300 Max mana
  • 20 Ability Haste
  • Passive - Winter’s Caress: Reduces nearby enemies’ attack speed by 15 percent.

Force of Nature

  • 350 HP
  • 45 Magic Resistance
  • Passive - Storm: Five percent move speed.
  • Active - Absorb: Taking ability damage grants move speed and magic resistance for five seconds, stacking up to five times for a max of 30 move speed and 20 magic resistance. Each unique ability gives one stack.

Sunfire Aegis

  • 500 HP
  • 15 Ability Haste
  • Passive - Immolate: Deals magic damage and one percent bonus health per second to nearby enemies.
  • Flametouch: At max Immolate stacks, attacks burn enemies.

Sapphire Crystal

  • An early item that grants mana.

Sheen (item tweak)

  • After using an ability, your next basic attack deals on-hit bonus damage for a certain period of time.

Events and Game Modes

All Mid All Random (ARAM)

  • Game mode on Howling Abyss Map with only one lane.
  • Randomly selected champions with two reroll allowed.
  • New summoner spell: Mark/Dash. Players can dash to enemies hit with their snowball.
  • Start of April: three-day test
  • Middle of April: one-month test
  • Will come back later in the year.

Masters of the Hunt

This event features the two rivals Kha’Zhix and Rengar, in a duel to prove who is the hunter and is the prey. More details for the event are expected to be revealed sometime in May 2021.

  • Attack frame adjustment
  • Ghost Summoner Spel Rework - fewer stats boost but duration refreshes on takedowns.
  • 120Hz support for high-end phones
  • New Useful Pings

    • Warded
  • Tuning button for “dead zones”
  • Toggle Show Champion Names
  • Position Preference Queue - Players can select their preferred role and the matchmaking will match you according to your preferred role. 
  • Wild Pass - Earn more rewards by simply playing the game. Reach level 50 to receive exclusive skin. 

The Wild Rift Patch 2.2 update is expected to arrive on March 30, 2021. Players will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates.
