  • Alter Ego made an announcement detailing that Ahmad tested positive for Covid-19 and won't be able to join the team for the M2 World Championship.
  • While Ahmad focuses on his recovery, Yam will replace him and will join the team to travel in Singapore and compete in the tournament.
  • Alter Ego will be participating in the M2 World Championship. The Group Stage will be held this Jan. 18 until Jan, 20, 2021.

Alter Ego is one of the best Esports Professionals for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). They recently earned the crown of Champions in the One Esports MPL Invitational last year, after a 3-0 beatdown against Bren Esports. As they prepare for the upcoming M2 World Championships, they’ve encountered a significant stepback, which has forced them to replace     Ahmad “Ahmad” Abdurrahman with William “Yam” W for this tournament.

Founder and CEO of Alter Ego Esports, Delwyn Sukamto made an announcement regarding this and stated that Ahmad tested positive for Covid-19 as of December 21, 2020, after attending events that feature popular esports athletes and influencers.

Sukamto also added that he did a check for all crew members and players on December 25, 2020, and Ahmad’s swab test results were still positive. This forced Ahmad to stay behind and focus on his recovery. Instead, Yam will replace him to compete in the M2 World Championships.

He ended his statement by wishing the team good luck and to do their best. He also reminded the fans to always stay safe and continue to support the team all the way.

Many fans were disheartened after learning about this and wished for Ahmad’s immediate recovery. The team assured that this obstacle won’t bring them down and that they would do their best in the tournament for their fans, Ahmad, and for Indonesia.
