The return of PUBG Mobile in India has finally be confirmed by PUBG Corporation. According to the South Korean company, a new specialized version of the game titled PUBG Mobile India will be released in the country to address privacy issues and will feature tailored content for the Indian market.
So what can we expect from the new version? While we haven’t got our hands on the game just yet, a few of the features that will be different in the PUBG Mobile India game has already been revealed by the South Korean company.
Major Differences Between PUBG Mobile India and PUBG Mobile
One of the major issues that plagued PUBG Mobile, forcing its ban in India, was the privacy concerns. The developers behind PUBG Mobile India will fix this by conducting regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.
Virtual Simulation Training Ground
The war theme has been replaced by a scenario of a military exercise. The Indian version of the mobile game will be taking place in a ‘Virtual Simulation Training Ground’ instead of the different islands (maps) which have been featured in the original version of the game.
Green Hit Effects
Since the game is taking place in a simulation, players will release a flash of green light instead of blood when they are killed, making the game family-friendly.
New Characters Will Start Fully Clothed
Unlike the original, when you start out in PUBG Mobile India, your character will be fully clothed.
Restriction of Play Time for Younger Audiences
PUBG Mobile India will also be imposing a limit on gaming for “younger players”, to promote healthy gameplay habits. It looks like the company is making this move to curb video game addiction in young players, which is claimed to be damaging to their health.
However, despite these changes, the gameplay should ideally be exactly similar to PUBG Mobile. Indian players will just play in a virtual simulation of a military training exercise instead of the actual islands that the original is based on.
While the release date of the game is yet to be officially announced, the game is expected to launch before the end of the year. PUBG Mobile will be airing commercials featuring popular esports players and streamers, to promote the game’s return to the country.
