PUBG MOBILE Removes ‘Distressing Gesture’ From Mysterious Jungle Mode After Religious Sentiments Were Hurt

  • Tencent provides official statement after theeir new mode ended up offending certain sections of the community. 

A recent report spoke about how certain sections of the community were offended by PUBG MOBILE’s Mysterious Jungle mode, which included an element of idol worship, which is forbidden according to the Islamic faith. The mode caused a controversy in Kuwait and UAE where some people took offence to it. 

PUBG MOBILE has now made steps to alter the mode and alter certain aspects of the game to make it enjoyable for everyone. According to a statement made to Gulf News, Tencent officials said “We are deeply sorry that some features in the game have offended some of our players. We respect the values, traditions and practices of our players and regret the hurt and anguish that we’ve caused. We have removed the distressing gesture and are removing the relevant visuals.”
