  • Bigetron eliminated from MPL-ID Season 5 Playoffs
  • RRQ Hoshi move to the grand finals after taking down arch rivals Evos Legends.

The second day of playoffs at the MPL-ID Season 5 was filled with end to end action as some of the top teams went head to head in the closing stages of the competition. Bigetron Alpha, who had finished second in the league stage suffered back to back losses to Evos and Onic to find themselves eliminated from the competition. Meanwhile arch rivals, RRQ and Evos went at each other in the semifinals, with RRQ triumphing once again.

BTR Disappoint in Playoffs

Bigetron’s playoffs performance was an absolute disaster as the team failed to put up any sort of a fight. While their league campaign was impressive, the team fell flat on their face in the playoffs with back-to-back losses. Their day started with a 2-1 defeat to Evos Legends followed by a 2-0 pummeling at the hands of Onic. With this the team are eliminated from the competition in 4th place.

Rivals Clash in Semifinals

The two big rivals in the league, Evos and RRQ clashed in the semifinals in yet another tense affair. The match went all the way with Evos starting off strong as they inflicted a crushing defeat with a 26-4 scoreline in game 1. RRQ bounced back with help from Xin and Lemon and then closed out the series with brilliant cross map play and effective split pushing.

The final day of MPL-ID Season 5 will take place tomorrow and feature two matches - the lower bracket finals between Onic and Evos and the grand finals.
