Faze Clan’s bad run in the PMPL Thailand Finals continued as the team slipped down to 8th position, at the end of day 2 of the competition. On the other hand, a team who placed in 16th in the league stage, Golden Cat have managed to climb to first place after picking up 2 chicken diners on day 2.

Power888 and Illuminate are in second and third place and all the three teams will make it to the next stages if things continue to remain the same after the final day. Surprisingly, teams who had a much better showing in the league stage, such as RRQ Athen, Faze Clan, MiTH and even Suphanburi Esports, have struggled in the final stage after their consistent 6 weeks during the league.

While for RRQ Athena, a spot in the SEA Finals is guaranteed as the team are the defending champions, it’s very likely that Faze, MiTH and SPES go home empty handed at the end of the competition. While Faze are nearly 40 points away from the top 3 with just 5 games remaining, SPES and MiTH and pretty much out of contention as they are struggling much lower down the order.

Chances are slim for these fan favorite teams as they have to put in their maximum effort on the final day in a bid to qualify. Even then, things might not completely be in their hands as there are a lot of factors at play in determining which teams will make it through.
