Apex Legends Mobile: EA Confirms Partnership With Chinese Developer to Release a Mobile Version
Electronic Arts have confirmed that they are working with a Chinese partner to build a mobile version of the title. Apex Legends is a different take on the battle royale genre, released in 2019. The game is quite popular with a substantial player base and is critically acclaimed. It is also known for its unique communication system and diversity and variety of characters. The developers have already begun executing the title into an esport and a lot of organizations have picked up rosters to represent them in Apex Legends.
While there were always talks of bringing the title to mobile, this latest report confirms the same. The success of titles like PUBG, Call of Duty, Fortnite and Garena Free Fire on mobile is a positive sign for the shooter genre and is a lucrative platform for developers and publishers to tap into a much bigger playerbase.
EA’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen was quoted saying “Rolling mobile out in China, you need to have a partner, and we're working with a partner there, and we're very excited about the opportunity. That partner is also helping us develop a mobile Apex for the globe.More to come on that in terms of timing.”
Along with this EA also confirmed that they are planning on developing the game for China as well.
