The flurry of announcements from teams picking up rosters in PUBG Mobile has only begun, as more organizations are expected to enter the ecosystem and pick up rosters in the coming weeks. The decision to establish a structured esport scene has obviously gone down well with organizations, who are looking now to not only build a fan base among the mobile audience, but also reaching out into newer territories and regions.

Fnatic and Cloud 9 have fielded rosters since 2019 while Faze Clan announced their entry into PUBG Mobile, earlier this month. Speculation is that the next big team to make a move will be French organization, Vitality. The team is well known in Counter Strike circles and their star player Zywoo was recently crowned the number 1 player of 2019 by HLTV.org. They also have rosters in other titles such as League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League and Fortnite. In 2019 the organization launched their new facility in Paris and their parent company Rewired.gg committed to investing 14 Million Euros into the team to help them expand into India and China.

The organization were bullish about the Indian market and the opportunities that it presented. Now that PUBG Mobile has mapped out a clear path on how their esports ecosystem will work, it seems likely that Vitality will be joining in pretty soon. During the launch of V.Hive, the organization had invited Indian gaming influencers such as Rawknee, which further goes on to show how much value Vitality has been putting on India. During a livestream with Rawknee, Vitality’s Chief Marketing Officer also highlighted the fact that the organization were indeed excited to come to India and would be announcing concrete plans soon.

With South Asia getting a dedicated Pro League for PUBG Mobile, there is a lot of buzz and hype around the coming events and it would not be unrealistic to see Vitality announce a team soon. With Fnatic, already having established presence in the country and finding success in a short time, there is already a success story and sense of optimism about what India and South Asia has to offer. While no official announcement has been made yet, we will be keeping our ears on the ground to see if pops up soon.
