  • Enabling Affected FOV in Call of Duty: Warzone can lead to reduced recoil on certain weapons.
  • The 'bug' has been around for months and it does not look like Infinity Ward will address it.
  • Players should turn on Affected FOV as it makes weapons like the AMAX much more usable.

Affected FOV in Call of Duty: Warzone can offer you significant gameplay advantages as it reduces the recoil on certain weapons. The CR-AMAX is one of many weapons that experience reduced recoil if you turn on Affected FOV from Call of Duty: Warzone’s gameplay settings. While the information has been known for a while by players within the community, it does not look like the developers are planning to remove it. If you have not already been using Affected FOV in Call of Duty: Warzone, you should turn it on right away.

Should You Enable Affected FOV in Call of Duty: Warzone

There are some amazing weapons in COD: Warzone but they can be hard to use if you are not accustomed to their recoil patterns. By turning on Affected FOV, the guns mysteriously become easier to use and players experience reduced recoil. This was first publicly revealed back in October 2020, where YouTuber Swagg revealed that Affected FOV in Call of Duty: Warzone reduced AMAX’s recoil.

This is not the case if you leave the setting at Independent, which most players have by default. This can be used to your advantage if you like using high DPS weapons that have difficult recoil control. On its own, the AMAX has some of the best damage stats in the game but it does not outperform other ARs in its class. Its biggest drawback is the high recoil and by tweaking the FOV setting, the weapon instantly becomes a potent option.

It has been six months since the “glitch” was first discovered and Infinity Ward have not made any changes or bugfixes to how the FOV setting affects recoil. It could be that it is intentional and the developers leave the mechanic as it is.
