  • Apex Legends Season 9 is set to introduce some major map changes in Olympus next month.
  • According to Respawn, "an infestation has sprung loose, strangling the city with roots and natural growths."
  • World's Edge will also receive some minor changes according to leaks which could mean some POIs may be tweaked in the map.

Apex Legends Season 9 could bring some serious changes to Olympus in two weeks. Following the release of the Apex Legends Season 9’s reveal cinematic for Valkyrie, Respawn Entertainment updated its website with some details on what to expect next month. It looks like there is a mysterious infestation in Olympus that will be one of the talking points of Apex Legends Season 9. In addition to the map changes, we are also getting a new character, a new weapon, and other content updates. Here is a look at what to expect from the upcoming season including the changes to the game’s latest map Olympus.

Apex Legends Season 9: Olympus Changes

According to a post by Respawn entertainment, “an infestation has sprung loose, strangling the city with roots and natural growths.” It is likely that some of the map areas will be changed and some new points of interest will be added. In the current season, the Fight Night arena was added just one season after the launch of Olympus. We can expect some new map mechanics and a point of interest at the very least.

Respawn Entertainment is known to change its maps around every season to keep the game feeling fresh and Apex Legends Season 9 will be no different. It is currently unknown of Olympus will be tweaked on May 4 or if changes will show up on the map at a later date as the season progresses. The map is scheduled to be the first in the ranked split with World’s Edge taking up Split 2 as the ranked map.

Apex Legends Season 9: Other Content Coming to The Season

In addition to the changes to Olympus and World’s Edge, we will also receive a new weapon, a brand new battle pass and other seasonal content via in-game events. Apex Legends Season 9 will continue to expand on the game’s lore as well.

The biggest highlight of the mode is 3v3 arenas which have been confirmed by Respawn through in-game teasers. Apex Legends’ Arena Mode was first discovered within the game’s code nearly two seasons ago. According to leaks, the new mode will be a permanent addition to the game instead of a limited-time event which the game is known for. It has a position next to the Play and Ranked Leagues in the UI which suggests that Respawn wants to create more game modes within Apex.
