Global Esports Wins The Esports Club Invitational Amidst Paratroops Controversy

The Esports Club Invitational has come to an end with Global Esports taking home the grand prize of INR 150,000 ($2,050). The team faced off against GodLike Esports and secured a 3-1 victory at the grand finals. The tournament was affected by controversy with Xhade from Paratroops being accused of cheating. The player was banned mid-tournament by Riot Gamed amidst wallhacking accusations. The Esports Club reached out to Riot Games to seek clarification on Xhade’s ban and decided to let the team compete with a substitute player. 

Global Esports vs GodLike Esports

Global Esports and GodLike Esports faced off against each other for the second time at the event following a 2-1 victory at the upper bracket finals on Jan 23rd. GodLike Esports won the lower bracket finals against Paratroops for a BO5 rematch but Global Esports secured the finals win winning three out of four maps. 

GE won at Ascent, Haven, and Bind and closely lost on Icebox to GodLike. GodLike will be taking home INR 75,000 ($ 1,027) for coming second. 

The Esports Club Invitational Overview

The Esports Club regularly hosts esports events with their Valorant events featuring the best teams across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Their Valorant events have been very successful and the invitational series boasted of a total prize pool of INR 300,000 ($4,100).
