Best Esports Event: League of Legends World Championship 2020 may not have had the same impact as they had in previous years. The pandemic kept everyone at home and forced Riot Games to move to a digital format. The event was a massive success and was one of the most-watched live events of this year in all of entertainment. So it comes as no surprise to see it take home the Game Awards trophy.

Best Esports Team: G2 Esports took home the award this year. Their esports teams from games like Siege, CS:GO, Rocket League, Valorant, and League of Legends have performed well at international events, and the brand is growing bigger every year.
