A brand new game mode is reportedly in the works in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War according to a leak from the game itself. The popular shooter has been running a message when players end up in loading screens about an unseen game mode. The info on the game mode shows up exactly where details on other game modes are shown which indicates that it is part of a new content update headed our way sometime soon.
Call of Duty's Dropkick Gamemode Will Rely On Team-Based Objectives

You can check out the message that shows up as long as you have in-game tips enabled in your game. The tip reads “If you die while your team is holding the objective you won’t respawn until the carrier is eliminated”. In a different tooltip, we read another line of text which shows us the inclusion of launch codes, objective control and a nuke. That is all that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has to reveal to us for now. Unlike Zombies, the new game mode is going to be PVP only with objective-based combat instead of a free-for-all scoring system. The mode may also be part of the upcoming Christmas event which is teased for December 15th or later.

Despite fans talking about the leak online and asking Treyarch about it, the developers have decided to keep things a secret for now. Most leakers suggest that the upcoming mode may be tied to Nuketown, a map that was redesigned for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as part of the Nuketown ’84 event. The upcoming event may tie into the lore of Nuketown being inhabited by outcasts. But how soon can we expect Dropkick to go live? A new update may be headed to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as early as next week.

Season 6 of Warzone is officially over, but Treyarch extended it temporarily. It has been suggested by Treyarch that the developers want to tie in both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone under a single season. We can expect Season 7 or the brand-new unified Season 1 of Cold War to release sometime next week. The update is likely to drop after the ongoing double XP event ends on November 30th.
