Riot's tenth anniversary for League of Legends came with a lot of surprise announcements. Games like VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, Wild Rift and even Project L were all announced in this event. One of the most hyped-up announcements of the celebrations was 'Arcane' - a League of Legends based animated series.
Unfortunately, it looks like has been delayed significantly. In an update, Greg Street aka Ghostcrawler from Riot Creative Development and IP stated that the release of 'Arcane' will be delayed until 2021.
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we unfortunately have to delay the worldwide release of our first animated series, Arcane, to 2021.
Everyone here at Riot is bummed. We were really looking forward to bringing you the show this year, but we need to balance our excitement for the story with the safety and well-being of our teams and partners. Our revised plan is to release Arcane in 2021, so stay tuned to our channels for more specific updates as we get closer."

Arcane is an animated television series set in the League of Legends universe. The series was unveiled during the League of Legends 10th Anniversary celebrations. It is currently being developed and produced by Riot and animated by Fortiche Productions. Set in the past, it is speculated that the series will retell the origin stories of Vi and Jinx through Zaun.
