  • Virtus.Pro roster featuring No[o]ne, Solo, Resolut1on and Zayac has been disbanded.
  • VP.Prodigy will become the "Main Roster" of the Virtus.Pro organization as a result.

Virtus.Pro has just made the biggest move that CIS Dota 2 has seen in quite a while. It has just disbanded its historically successful roster featuring the likes of Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko, Alexey "Solo" Berezin, Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok, and Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov.

As a result, the VP.Prodigy’s players have become the “main team” of the Virtus.Pro organization.

The Virtus.Pro Dota 2 Composition Featuring Solo and No[o]ne Has Been Disbanded

The Virtus.Pro roster featuring some of the most well-known CIS Dota 2 players including Solo and No[o]ne has been disbanded by the CIS organization who cited the limited tournament options as the primary reason for making this decision.

Most tournament organizers like ESL and WePlay! have barred teams with the same parent organization from entering the same tournaments. Earlier this year, OG.Seed (OG's secondary team) also disbanded citing similar reasons.

Virtus.Pro’s CEO’s Comments On This Decision

Virtus.Pro’s CEO, Sergey Glamazda commented on this matter stating the reasoning behind this sudden move.

“We launched VP.Prodigy roster with one main goal —  to give young talents a chance for development on the pro-scene. This team had already shown some phenomenal results by this moment: reached grand finals in five out of seven tournaments and won three of them. We had two strong rosters, though at the same time we were limited in tournament options.

By the end of September we faced a tough choice: to once again update our first roster or to invest in VP.Prodigy and put our faith in new blood. Today we transfer the VP.Prodigy squad to our first Dota 2 team.

I would like to thank ex-VP players. A lot of them are the living legends, their names and victories have been written in the club's history. Today we start a new chapter that will have a lot of trophies and memorable moments.”

Increasing Likelihood of SumaiL, No[o]ne, Solo, RAMZES666 teaming up

These moves add credence to the earlier rumours that indicated a potential All-star team in the making, featuring the likes of SumaiL, RAMZES666, No[o]ne and Solo.

Earlier in October 2020, a leaked conversation between Chinese coach rOtK and former Virtus.Pro General Manager, Roman Dvoryankin showcased a new all-star roster in the making.

According to this leaked conversation, the lineup features:

  • Carry: Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
  • Mid: Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan
  • Offlane: Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko
  • Position 5: Alexey "Solo" Berezin

This move from Virtus.Pro increases the likelihood of this roster actually being formed in the near future. Virtus.Pro, however, noted that the ex-VP representatives including Solo and No[o]ne still have valid contracts with the organization.

VP.Prodigy has been turning heads with their recent performances at ESL One Birmingham Online: CIS & Europe as well as other tournaments. They’ve certainly done enough to grab the attention of the Virtus.Pro management. It will be interesting to see if they can build on these performances and capture a title in the near future.
