CIS team Cyber Legacy has recently come under fire after multiple betting sites have reported suspicious betting activity during their match against Vikin.gg at the group stages of ESL One Germany 2020.
Reports of Suspicious Betting Activity During Cyber Legacy’s Match Against Vikin.gg
Parimatch:
Suspicions of Cyber Legacy began when Dmitry Sergeev, CEO of Parimatch CIS posted about the abnormal activity that was spotted on his site.
“Dear colleagues, I have to announce an unprecedented activity (abnormal volume of bets) in betting on the exact account and card forum in the match on ESL One Germany 2020 (prize fund 400k$) between Cyber Legacy and ViKin.gg. We had to withdraw the match from the live betting line and some other betting agencies did the same along with us. The odds in the pre-match dropped from 1.45 to 1.25, but they probably were not supposed to fall any lower. At the beginning of the second map, those bookmakers who still took bets did so with odds of 1.03-1.05 for the victory of Vikin.gg. The game as expected ended with a score of 0:2.
I do not understand why the team, which belongs to the Roscongress Foundation, participates in such games.”
For context, in May 2020, it was announced that Cyber Legacy received $4 Million USD in investment from The Roscongress Foundation.
1xBet:
Following this, representatives of 1xBet have also allegedly confirmed to Cybersport.ru, that they also had spotted suspicious bets placed on the correct score and result in the Cyber Legacy vs ViKin.gg match at ESL One Germany 2020.
According to Cybersport.ru, the representatives of 1xBet stated that this was not the first match of the Cyber Legacy Dota 2 roster on which suspicious bets were made - the last such incident took place six months ago.
Cybersports adds that 1xBet’s representatives noted that the CIS team was indeed overvalued when calculating the odds for the match against ViKin.gg, but even taking this factor into account, too many bets were made from newly registered accounts.
However, 1xBet did not issue refunds for this match.

Cyber Legacy’s Response To These Allegations
Following the allegations made by Parimatch CIS' CEO, Cyber Legacy’s CEO Vladislav Grechkin responded to Cybersport.ru by stating that the allegations were unsportsmanlike and unsubstantiated.
"Cyber Legacy is always committed to sporting ethics and has great respect for its audience. Participation in "fake" matches is unacceptable for us.
Team Vikin.gg was originally a favorite of the meeting. Based on the fact that our Dota 2 roaster is in a " reboot" state, and the results of several recent games could predict that we will concede.
We have not detected anything suspicious. The audience watching our teams is growing rapidly, which could lead to a surge in activity.
I regard the bookmaker's statement as "unsportsmanlike" and unsubstantiated and can only guess about his real motives.”
