OG’s offlaner Sébastien "Ceb" Debs has always been a person who speaks his mind in many an interview. The player is also not one to give undue praise to his opponents or rivals. So it really was surprising to see the player acknowledge that Team Secret was the best team in the world at the moment and note that it was very difficult to defeat Puppey and company as a result.

Ceb’s Comments On Team Secret

Responding to a question from QO, which asked whether OG was “ready to give a lesson to Team Secret” after finally stabilizing the team after all the roster shuffles and stand-ins, Ceb stated:

“Definitely, in this tournament, we are more in full force than in some of the others. But Topias(Topson) had very pleasant news in his life, he is a father now, so he had to take some time off, so we didn’t get a lot of time to practice for this so we’re gonna be in good shape.”

But Ceb acknowledged that he isn’t sure that being in good shape would be enough when it came to Team Secret.

“Giving a lesson to Team Secret is a tough task. I think you need to be in more than good shape in order to do so. At this point, we’re just going to try our best and probably challenge them a little bit harder. But I do think that they’re the best team right now, and definitely, the team to beat.”

Team Secret has arguably become the most dominant team in the history of Dota 2. In what many consider as the strongest region, the European team has claimed one victory after the other, winning eight premier championships in a row, which is unprecedented in Dota 2 history.

According to DatDota, Since April 24 (which was when they began their winning streak) Team Secret has an 86.67% win rate, with 117 wins and 18 losses. The team has only dropped to the lower brackets once (at ESL One Birmingham 2020) over the course of eight tournaments and they have not dropped a single game in the Grand Finals of any tournament during this time period.

So Ceb’s comments acknowledging Team Secret’s dominance is certainly well warranted by Puppey and co.
