TNC Predator Wins ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia

With a scintillating 3-2 victory in the Grand Finals against BOOM Esports, TNC Predator have won the ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia. This is the team’s first title in 2020 and their first since their win at the MDL: Chengdu Major 2019. They walk away with $50,000 USD in prize winnings as a result.

This is BOOM Esports 3rd runner-up finish in the last four months. Earlier in May 2020, they finished in 2nd place at the ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Southeast Asia. In June 2020, they secured a 2nd place finish at the BTS Pro Series 2: Southeast Asia. The Indonesian team just don’t seem to able to take that final step to claim a championship.

TNC Predator vs BOOM Esports

BOOM Esports started the series well beating TNC Predator with an overfarmed Dreamocel Terrorblade ripping through the Filipinos with ease. However, TNC Predator struck back in Games 2 and 3 putting them just one win away from victory. BOOM Esports however managed to level the series and pushed it to a Game 5 with a great Outworld Devourer performance from Mikoto in Game 4.

In the final game, Armel managed to put up one of the best Magnus performances we’ve seen all year to lead TNC Predator to an easy victory and claimed the title for the team.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that TNC Predator dominated the whole tournament. The Filipino favorites won 4 of their 5 matches in the group stages, only dropping a single series against Fnatic.

This would end up being their only loss in the whole tournaments, as they just rampaged through the playoffs bracket beating out Neon Esports and BOOM Esports with ease on their road to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals was a much closer affair than most expected, but TNC Predator proved that they were still clearly the best team competing in this tournament.

Mercedes Benz MVP of ESL One Thailand 2020

After the games came to a close, it was announced that TNC Predator's Damien "kpii" Chok and Fnatic's Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong were the two players who were nominated as contenders for the Mercedes Benz MVP of ESL One Thailand 2020 from the Asia region. They will go up against South American players, Rodrigo "Lelis" Santos and Leonardo "LeoStyle-" Sifuentes in the final vote for the MVP trophy.

The winner of this trophy will receive a brand new Mercedes Benz car as a reward.

With no other SEA tournaments on the horizon, it ends up being a crucial victory for TNC Predator who can claim to be the top dogs in the scene for quite some time.
