The very entertaining Group A of the ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia has finally come to a conclusion earlier today. Filipino favorites TNC Predator and Indonesian team BOOM Esports managed to top the group and will be directly heading into the upper bracket playoffs of the tournament.

Surprisingly, Fnatic has been relegated to the lower brackets after they finished in third place after a loss in their final group stage match.

TNC Predator vs Team Trust

To put it lightly, TNC Predator completely outclassed Team Trust in both of their matches today. Impressive carry play from Gabbi on the Phantom Assassin in Game 1and Sven in Game 2, made sure that TNC Predator was always a step ahead of their opponents, in both games. The player finished with an average KDA of 16/1/8 averaging 808 GPM over the course of the series.

This win guaranteed the Filipinos an upper bracket berth, regardless of how the other match between BOOM Esports and Fnatic went down.

BOOM Esports vs Fnatic

This series was in complete contrast to the previous one. Both teams went back and forth in this series, providing fans a stunning spectacle.

Fnatic won Game 1 on the back of some impressive carry play from Raven’s Arc Warden. The Filipino carry managed to dodge multiple gank attempts from BOOM Esports until he was ready to fight. When he entered the fray, BOOM Esports were simply not equipped to deal with the damage Raven was dishing out, and ended up conceding the first game.

However, the Indonesians struck back in Game 2 and Game 3 with Dreamocel’s signature Morphling. Fnatic failed to find an answer to this hero across both games and lost the series 2-1, relegating them to the lower brackets.

Despite topping the group, BOOM Esports looked quite uncertain in many of their games in the Group Stages. They’ll have to step things up by a notch when they go into the playoffs against teams like Sparkling Arrow Gaming, Geek Fam, or Neon Esports who have been tearing it up in the other group of the ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia.

TNC Predator, on the other hand, looked stellar in the group stages except for their slight misstep against Fnatic. They would definitely pose a tough challenge to any of the Group B challengers in their first game in the playoffs.
