It is arguably the first major Roster change for a European Dota 2 team this season. Alliance, who managed to make it to the first two Majors, and the third Minor of this season has decided to make a roster change to shake things up a bit.

Captain and Position 5 Player Adrian "Fata" Trinks and Offlaner Neta "33" Shapira have departed from the team according to a statement issued by the Alliance organisation.

Jonathan "Loda" Berg, the CEO of Alliance stated:

“I’m very thankful for everything Fata and 33 has achieved with our team. When they joined us in September last year, we knew they wanted to prove themselves and we could not have asked for more with the performance and results they have achieved so far with Alliance.

Competition in DotA 2 is ruthless, even though our results have been good, we are now making these changes to further close the gap to the absolute top.

It was not an easy choice to make but our goal is to become the best Dota 2 team in the world, nothing less. With time I think it will be clear that this is the right decision for everyone. I wish them nothing but the best as they are incredible players.”

As news is out, quick comment:

33 and I were removed from Alliance.

This came as quite a surprise to me and I feel pretty disappointed since we created the team together.

I'm trying to remain positive, since bitterness helps nobody.

I will use the time to take a break from the game, working on myself and resetting from dota a bit.

Afterwards Neta and I will look to rebuild a team with fresh energy and ambitions.

So Alliance’s roster at the moment is:

  • Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov

  • Linus “Limmp” Blomdin

  • Simon “Handsken” Haag

However, EG’s coach Bulba’s Tweet leads us to believe that this must be taken with a grain of salt at least until tomorrow, considering the fact that tomorrow is April Fool's Day. The fact that there is almost no Tier 1 offlaner/position 5 player in the market at the moment seems to make this a setup for the prank.

We will know for sure tomorrow.

What are your thoughts on this?
