The only Western player in Dota 2 history with a 100% TI winrate, OG.Topson recently spoke with Dot Esports where he talked about a lot of interesting topics. He spoke about his unconventional playstyle, OG’s new roster, Void Spirit and memes on him.

Perhaps the most interesting insight we got from this interview was when he spoke about the mid-lane and how players should approach it. Topson said:

“I believe that making the first move is always better than reacting on what your enemy does, that way, they are out of their comfort zone… almost all mid players are way too selfish and they don’t understand how Dota is really meant to be played. It’s a team game and no matter what role you play, you always have to think [about] what’s best for your team.”

Topson also acknowledges that he never really thought that he would make it to the professional scene. He says:

“Back then, I had no intentions to even go pro, because I thought it was just an unrealistic dream. My brothers thought that I had the skill to try to go pro, I loved playing Dota more than doing anything else so it was a pretty easy choice in the end.”

We will see Topson make his way into a LAN tournament for the first time since TI9 at the ESL One: Los Angeles 2020 Major.
