Turns out, Adroit’s success was not denied, only delayed. They manage to beat Mushi’s IO Dota in two quick sweeps to claim a place at the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Major as the third SEA Dota 2 representative after Geek Fam and Fnatic.

This is the team’s 2nd appearance at a Major this season. Earlier last year, the team also competed at the MDL: Chengdu Major 2020. They could only manage a last-place finish at this tournament.

Adroit vs IO Dota

Although IO Dota raced off to a lead with a scintillating performance in the laning phase, Adroit managed to turn the game around with a series of great team fights. Once they clawed their way back into the game, the Filipinos took full control and easily closed out the game in 37 minutes.

The second game was a lot more even in the laning phase. But once again, Adroit turned up the heat around the 18-minute mark to completely shutdown IO Dota and claim the victory in just under 30 minutes.

You can clearly see that this victory meant a lot to the team from these videos capturing their winning moment and their celebration.

Just watching their celebratory dance makes our hearts warm.

IO Dota have now been relegated to the Minor Qualifiers where they'll compete against the likes of TNC Predator, BOOM Esports and Reality Rift for a shot at the Minor.
