They’ve done it. One of the strongest teams in the SEA region, Geek Fam have finally managed to qualify for the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Major. It was a long and hard road, having to beat some of the best teams in the region, but they manage to pull through in the end.

Throughout the qualifier, Kuku and Co. only dropped a single game (against Fnatic in the Group Stages) on their road to the Major.

Geek Fam vs IO Dota 2

Game 1:

Geek Fam proved to be the better team right from the get-go, winning all three lanes and showcasing why they were considered to be one of the best teams in the region with their control of the game.

Game 2:

Raven was the MVP of the second game, farming up a storm and hitting the right item timings allowing him to carry his team to victory with ease. IO Dota 2 simply had no answers to Raven’s impressive Troll Warlord. Which allowed them to win the game and go crazy with their celebrations.

Although this will be their first appearance in a Major, this will be Geek Fam’s third appearance at a DPC event this season. They previously managed to qualify for both the Summit 11 Minor as well as the WePlay! Bukovel 2020 Minor.

Their pickup of Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon has proven to be a key change, allowing them to take it to the next level. We’ll find out how they fair against the best teams in the world at the 3rd Major of the season.
