One of the most popular players in esports, Team Liquid’s ADC - Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng said that he thinks that League of Legends has a much higher skill ceiling the Dota 2.

On a recent stream, the player stated:

“I’d say Dota has more to learn than League when it comes to build diversity, champion pool diversity, [and] map plays, but mechanically, no. There’s a 0% chance Dota has more mechanical skill ceiling than League. [It has] turn speed, built-in lag, not a lot of skill short, dashes, or mobility.”

The player also stated that Dota 2 doesn’t really have too many skillshots, but only clickable/targetable abilities. He stated:

“You do have more buttons, but they’re targeted so you don’t often need to display a high level of mechanical ability. It’s all game knowledge – meanwhile, League is really mechanically intensive”

The player finished his statement by saying that he never really wanted to go pro in Dota, despite being ‘understanding’ the game and “shitstomping every pub he stepped into.”

Considering the fact that Doublelift is a League of Legends professional, it would be an understatement to say that this is a biased take. Nevertheless, it will definitely please League of Legends fans whilst evoking a few negative reactions from the Dota 2 community.
