Update: Geek Fam pick up Filipino Wonderkid 'Karl' to replace Ryoya

Update: Geek Fam have made an official announcement.

After a 3 month stint with Geek Fam, the team’s midlaner, Eric "Ryoya" Dong has parted ways with the team.

The move is a surprising one, as the team is set to compete in the upcoming Weplay! Bukovel Minor 2020 in January. It might also be quite controversial since the player will not be able to compete in the tournament which he qualified for.

This is similar to the departure of Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen and Nico "Gunnar" Lopez after they helped their teams qualify for DPC tournaments last season. Valve is yet to introduce any measures to discourage such incidents.

At the time of writing, Geek Fam is yet to make an official statement regarding the matter. It’ll be interesting to see who will replace the player in this team. With some top tier midlaners including MidOne and SumaiL in the market, fans of the team will be excited for the revelation of the replacement.
