A massive comeback by the Philippines to claim the gold medals marked the end of the Dota 2 Tournament at the SEA Games 2019. They managed to secure a 3-2 victory over Thailand in the Grand Finals to close out the tournament.

This is a monumental win for Philippines, as this as they claim their first-ever Dota 2 Gold Medals in the history of the SEA Games on their home soil.

Thailand vs Philippines

This was one of the closest series we’ve seen since the Outlanders patch dropped, with both teams going blow-for-blow against each other. The Philippines claimed the first game of the series thanks to some incredible Templar Assassin play from Mac.

However, Thailand struck back in Game 2 after a scintillating Faceless Void performance from 23savage carved out a win for them.

Following this, both teams added one win each to their bags pushing the series to a deciding Game 5. The final game saw a massive 10k net-worth comeback by the Philippines courtesy of some great Black Holes from Bok Boomy in the late game and an overfarmed Phantom Lancer.

The Philippines came into this tournament as the favourites to claim the trophy and they have duly lived up to fans’ expectations with this victory.
