The first matchup of the final day of the MDL Chengdu Major was rather uneventful as TNC Predator beat Invictus Gaming 2-0 with ease to set up a rematch against ViCi Gaming in the Grand Finals.

TNC Predator vs Invictus Gaming

The Southeast Asian representatives absolutely destroyed Invictus Gaming in the opening game with their signature Morph-Earthshaker combo claiming a 31-minute victory, despite an Ancient Apparation counter-pick on their opposing side.

The second game ended up being even more TNC favoured with the Filipinos winning all 3 lanes and once again snowballing. IG’s draft simply couldn’t deal with the sheer amount of pressure applied by TNC and ended up being decimated when the SEA team hit their power-spikes, conceding the game in 32 minutes.

In hindsight, it isn’t really too surprising to see the two favourites coming into this event battling it out in the Grand Finals. Both teams have been a step above the rest of the teams competing in this tournament. We can expect this to be one hell of a rematch.

Invictus Gaming, on the other hand, will be quite content. The team said that they were aiming for a Top 6 finish coming into this tournament, they've surpassed their expectations. With a Top 3 finish and 2200 DPC points being claimed, they’ve likely guaranteed a spot at TI10 already.
