The Filipino Powerhouse has finally fallen. TNC Predator suffers their first defeat at the MDL: Chengdu Major 2019 to ViCi Gaming who took them down 0-2.

TNC and ViCi Gaming have looked like the favourites to take this tournament, not dropping a single series in this tournament. Hence their battle in the winner bracket finals was one of the most awaited series of the tournament.

ViCi Gaming vs TNC Predator

Game 1: The first game between the two sides was a stomp in the favour of ViCi Gaming. TNC Predator opted to pick-up the Morph-Earthshaker combo, but ViCi Gaming answered back with aggressive play in the early game shutting down TNC and completely restricted the Filipino team’s farm, delaying the Morphling’s Aghanim’s Scepter by a significant amount of time to put the hero on the backfoot and secure the win.

Game 2: This one was far more even with both teams battling each other in a back-and-forth game. TNC Predator managed to carve out a lead in the mid-late game stages, securing two barracks. But some fantastic itemization from Eurus on the Faceless Void made sure that ViCi could withstand the damage and the lockdown that the SEA team possessed, allowing him to secure the victory for his side.

So ViCi Gaming became the first team to secure a place in the Grand Finals with that result. TNC, on the other hand, will have to battle the winner of the IG vs EG series for a place in the Grand Finals.
