Team Adroit’s journey at the MDL Chengdu Major 2019 finally came to an end after the team threw a 20k Gold Lead against beastcoast and ended up getting eliminated as a result.

In the SEA team’s first appearance in a DPC tournament, Adroit failed to win a single game throughout their run. After a poor performance in the Group Stages saw them lose 2 games each to Evil Geniuses and Team Aster, the SEA team would have been looking to land an upset against beastcoast in their elimination match.

However, the pressure at the highest level seemed to get under Adroit’s nerves which proved to be their undoing today.

Team Adroit vs beastcoast

Adroit started off their game well, farming up a 10-minute Radiance on Natsumi’s Alchemist and were cruising to victory on the back of their cores. However, K1.Hector managed to keep himself within touching distance of the Alchemist, with his impressive farming patterns.

This enabled beastcoast to surprise Team Adroit with their ridiculous damage output and teamwiped them to turn the tides. Rattled by this, the SEA team started making multiple mistakes and got picked off allowing beastcoast to take control of the game and eventually secure victory.

beastcoast will now face Vici Gaming/Fighting Pandas in their next game.

Adroit will have to go back to the drawing board and take this major as a learning experience. They will be carrying the weight of the expectations of the whole of Philippines come December when they represent the country at the SEA Games 2019.
