In one of the most high-octane clashes in this new season, Alliance managed to overturn an 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 victory to secure the DreamLeague Season 12 championship against NA underdogs Demon Slayers.

The NA team will still leave with their heads held high as they pushed the Europeans to their very limit in the BO5 Grand Final series.

Alliance vs Demon Slayers

Demon Slayers fresh off the momentum from their victory against Ninjas in Pyjamas picked up an Ember Spirit for iAnnihilate and a Lifestealer for Costabile confident that they could hold their own in the late-game. Alliance answered with a Bloodseeker-Kunkka pairing of cores which allowed them to play aggressively and impose control in the early-mid game phases.

However, Demon Slayers weren’t faltered as they kept themselves within striking distance and just as they did against NiP, turned up the heat at the right moment to clutch out a win for the NA underdogs.

Game 2: The NA upstarts decided to pickup a much more early-game focussed lineup in Game 2 featuring Lycan, Viper and Nightstalker as their cores. This allowed them to punish Alliance’s greedy Spectre lineup, with quick objectives and devastating teamfights in the early game which lead them to amass an overwhelming 10k gold advantage 20 minutes into the game, allowing them to close out Game 2 to put them one game away from taking home the championship.

However, with their backs against the walls, Alliance managed to clean up their act and showcased some top tier Dota to claw their way back into the series with dominant victories in Games 3 and 4.

The final game was a very close affair. Although Alliance managed to hold the net-worth lead for the majority of the game, Demon Slayers still kept themselves in with some smart farming-patterns and item decisions. However, Alliance simply managed to hold their composure in the game-deciding teamfights utilizing their experience advantage and managed to close out the series 3-2.

The next stop for Alliance will be at ESL One: Hamburg where we’ll get to see them compete against tougher competition including the likes of TNC Predator, Evil Geniuses, Vici Gaming and Beastcoast.

It’ll be interesting to see how they fare against these top tier teams who will also be competing at the MDL: Chengdu Major.
