With the Riot announcing various game titles and even an anime on account of their approaching 10th year anniversary and titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Rainbow Six Seige getting all set for Halloween with special themed content or events, many expected Valve to finally introduce the return of Diretide. But once again, this season, Valve has announced that they would prefer to work on other aspects of the game.

Valve Dev confirms no Diretide for the fifth year in a row

Valve employee /u/cameron_dev stated that the developers have been focussing on matchmaking, new player experience, and the Outlanders update and hence haven’t been able to dedicate time towards Diretide.

While many fans were disappointed with this revelation, they didn’t direct their displeasure at the Valve employee and were still thankful for the communication received from Valve.

With the amount of hype and effort preceding the launch of the Outlanders update, Dota 2 could very well see a surge in the number of unique players playing the game.
