The Dota Pro Circuit season will finally kick-off with The Summit 11. With several upsets in the Major Qualifiers, many top tier teams were scheduled to compete at the event. However, it looks like at least one team will not be making it to the first Minor of the season.
Virtus.Pro has just announced that they will not be competing in the first Minor of the season: Dota Summit 11.
“Minor qualifiers have revealed our roster’s potential. However, we need time to fully reach it, and additional pressure can only get in the way. Furthermore, problems with Visas were an additional factor, as missing the tournament due to ambiguous timings of our application reviews was a real possibility.” Said Roman Dvoryankin, General Manager of Virtus.pro. “We have put a lot of effort into things we could change, but there are factors beyond our control. Having to miss the Summit is particularly unfortunate as we are three-time champions of this tournament.“
However, the Russian juggernauts have confirmed that they will be competing at ESL One: Hamburg 2019.
Team jfshfh178 from CIS will be replacing them in The Summit 11.
Featuring players like Yaroslav "Pikachu" Vasilenko, Nikita "Palantimos" Grinkevich and Danil "Bignum" Shehovtsov, the team finished in 3rd place in the CIS Qualifiers.
The Summit 11 will kick off on 7th November 2019 with a prize pool of $300,000 USD, 660 Pro Circuit points and a place at the MDL Chengdu Major on the line.
