TI Backstage Host and Interviewer Kaci Aitchison joins Valve

One of the mainstays of every single TI since she delved into the Dota 2 scene, Kaci Aitchison - Former anchor/reporter of the Q13Fox network has just revealed that she has joined Valve on her Twitter account.

Kaci’s first gig in esports/Dota 2 came during the International 2013, where she was brought on as the Backstage Host and Interviewer. Since then, she has become a permanent fixture in all TI tournaments becoming one of the fan favourites thanks to her sheer enthusiasm and personality.

“With someone who conducts interviews really well, it’s a lot harder than most people think. And Kaci has other things - she sings in a band, she’s got an improv background, she’s really colorful and really likes meeting people, and for this event that’s a really great mix of skills, and the main thing, and this is true of all of Valve, is she wanted to do it. She’s really having a good time. I’m really glad, I’ve got a huge amount of respect for what she’s doing.”

Over the years, she has partnered with Jake "SirActionSlacks" Kanner to create some memorable content for TI. Perhaps the most famous featuring her as Omniknight and Slacks as Crystal Maiden.

It will be interesting to see what role she’ll take on at Valve considering her lack of experience as a developer. Perhaps a role in the PR department? Or perhaps as the mythical community manager? We’ll have to wait to find out.
