Alliance have been eliminated from the International 2019 after losing to Chinese team RNG in the first BO1 match of the day. The result was not what most Western fans expected since Alliance had played exceptionally well in the Group Stages.

Alliance vs RNG

Despite a seemingly unorthodox draft, Alliance had a good start to the game managing to find multiple kills and secured an early lead. However, crucial mistakes made, gave RNG a way back into the game. The Chinese team fully capitalized and eliminated Alliance in a nailbiting finish.

Soon after the elimination, Team Captain Aydin "iNSaNiA" Sarkohi shockingly revealed that Alliance had mispicked Gyrocopter in this game. He stated that they wanted to ban Gyro, but as they clicked it, the ban time ran out. So they didn't ban anything and instead picked Gyro.

It is an unfortunate way for Alliance to meet their end in the biggest esports tournament of all time, and we wish the best for the players moving forward. Up next we’ll see Fnatic taking on Liquid in a BO1 elimination match.
