  • S1mple unknowingly logs into a VAC banned Steam account while finding a silver ranked CS:GO profile.

The competitive CS:GO scene is on a break as the 2020 season has come to an end and players await the start of the 2021 circuit. This has given all the players a bit of time to spend time with their family, enjoy a vacation, or in Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev’s case just chill playing the game he is already so good at with some friends.

Unfortunately, this plan had to take a bit of a detour as s1mple while finding a silver ranked CS:GO account to play a few games with some of his friends unknowingly logged into a VAC banned steam account.

The Natus Vincere AWPer shared quite the story as he asked his friend to find him a silver ranked CS:GO account so they could play together, only to find out that the Steam account had a CS:GO VAC ban on record. He jokingly said that “Hope they (Valve) won’t ban me LOL”.

Further clarification by the 23-year-old Ukrainian revealed that he did not open Counter-Strike from that account and had immediately logged off from the account as soon as he found out that it had a VAC ban on record.

The above incident would surely not get the best CS:GO player in the world banned from the game or lock him out his own original account, but it is certainly not a thing to take too lightly as s1mple’s joke actually has a bitter truth behind it.

Players like Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen and Vinicius “vsm” Moreira are two talented pros who are currently facing a lifetime ban from Valve sponsored CS:GO tournaments due to a VAC ban on their previous accounts. Jamppi has even taken the matter to court by filing a lawsuit against Valve, but things are not looking too good for him at the moment.

S1mple himself has a tendency to attract the ban hammer, as he has received a total of four Twitch bans in the last two years. Though all of them have lasted for only about a week, he is quite prone to such bans and sometimes he does not even know the reason behind them.
