ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Festival 2020 will be featuring a prize pool of more than $6,000.
The CS:GO tournament will be taking place across five different regions.
Here are 4 reasons why this might be the best CS:GO tournament to take place in the APAC region this year.

The ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Festival 2020 featuring over $6,000 USD in prize money was announced last month, with regional qualifiers set to take place across five different regions. It might be the biggest and the best CS:GO tournament to take place in the APAC region this year, which has sadly witnessed a decline in competitive Counter-Strike due to the global pandemic.

But merely saying that is not enough, so let me give you guys four solid reasons why this season of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND is going to be a fantastic experience with some top-notch CS:GO action!

Return Of Asian Competitive CS:GO

Is there any reason bigger and better than this? 2020 has been a really slow year for regional competitive Counter-Strike, with the pandemic keeping all of us in a lockdown for a good part of the year. This season of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND will be a welcome change as we once again witness the local teams from every region go head-to-head against each other on the server.

As the holiday season sets in, a lot of CS:GO action awaits us to keep us company during this time. This is going to be the next best thing to a LAN competition for sure!

Five Winners Instead Of One

Being an online tournament this year due to various travel restrictions and health hazards, instead of conducting just one main event ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND CS:GO Festival 2020 will feature five main events for each region.

Each region will have an open qualifier followed by the playoffs and the finals. Four teams from the open qualifiers will go up against four directly invited teams in the playoffs followed by the grand final. This means that there will be five regional champions this time instead of one main champion!

More Exposure For Each Region

ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND will even broadcast open qualifier matches, starting from the semifinals, from each region on its channels, which means that more local teams and players will be getting exposure.

This will be an excellent opportunity for some regional tier-two and tier-three teams to expand its reach, while we get to see a bit more local competitive CS:GO in action, something we have all missed out on this year.

Intense Regional Action

As the entire tournament is being divided into five regions and with the open qualifiers also being broadcasted, we can expect to see more teams from each region battle it out in the playoffs than the previous iterations of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND.

Tournament Format

This is particularly great for regions like the Middle East and South Asia which do not receive a lot of spotlight, even when it comes to regional Asian tournaments. It will also be a great hustle for the top teams from other regions as they fight to prove who is the best among them to become their respective regional champions.
