Na’Vi superstar Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev criticised Esports Awards for not giving Counter-Strike the recognition it deserved as Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut was the only CS:GO player nominated for ‘Esports PC Player Of The Year’. The Ukrainian went to state that “Zywoo should be there 100%” but that he should not be the only nominated Counter-Strike player, there should definitely be “2-3 CS players.”

s1mple Criticises Esports Awards
The Esports Awards revealed the nominees for ‘Esports PC Player Of The Year’ yesterday which included many popular players from different esport titles, but the CS:GO community is not too happy with it especially s1mple.
One of the best CS:GO players in the world s1mple who has previously won an award under the same category in 2018 was not at all pleased with the fact that only one Counter-Strike player was nominated for the category which seems to have two or more players from LoL, Rainbow Six Siege, Dota 2, and Fortnite.
“How they fail to see that CS is one of the most challenging and competitive scenes in 2020 and especially during the pandemic when everyone (is) flying to Bootcamp to achieve something.”
Expressing his feelings the Ukrainian said that he was dissatisfied with the nominations and that he felt as if CS:GO was not being given the recognition it deserved, he added that at least 2 to 3 CS players definitely deserved to be on that list.
s1mple Shows Support For ZywOo
The young French AWPer who was recognized as the best player in the world last year as per ‘HLTV Top 20 Players - 2019’ is the only player from Counter-Strike under the category.
Though s1mple might have criticized Esports Awards he was in complete support of ZywOo as he said that “Zywoo should be there 100%”. He also indirectly requested the CS:GO community to vote for ZywOo as he made the following statement, “You know which scene and player to vote for!”

In my personal opinion, it does seem a bit odd to see only one player from CS:GO being nominated under the category. Maybe the nominations could have been better adjusted to include at least two CS:GO players by reducing one of the League of Legends or Fortnite nominations.
