- Astralis sign two-year contract with Bubzkji while releasing JUGi to maintain their seven-man roster.
- JUGi failed to perform individually during his time with Astralis.
- The team is all set to start practice from Monday onwards with an offsite team bootcamp.
The speculations and the rumours have turned out to be true as the Danish giants Astralis has officially announced the signing of Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen. The 22-year-old Dane will be replacing Jakob "JUGi" Hansen who was picked up the organization two months back in May.
The community is neither sad nor too happy upon hearing this news as they seem to be confused as to what Astralis seems to achieve with the multiple roster changes that they have been making in the last three months or so.
Astralis: Bubzkji In, JUGi Out
The Danish organization Astralis have continued to maintain a seven-man roster despite the signing of Bubzkji from MAD Lions, as he is replacing the 23-years-old Dane JUGi who had joined the organization back in May.
Since joining Astralis JUGi has played for the team in two tournaments, BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Showdown and DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Europe. In both these tournaments, Astralis did not perform well at all witnessing an early exit and this was kind off expected as they were playing with two new players and the synergy between the players had still not set in.
JUGi personally suffered quite a bit as well attaining an overall rating of 0.86 across the two tournaments. He played 15 maps for Astralis during which his average DPR (Death Per Round) rating was higher than his KPR (Kill Per Round) resulting in a K-D differential of -44.
According to Kasper Hvidt - Director of Sports for Astralis Group, JUGi despite being an extremely skilled player did not get a chance to play his favourite position as an AWPer and moving ahead it seemed very unlikely that this situation would change. So, for the best of both the organization and the player he released from the team.
Looking forward to the upcoming fall season Astralis feels that Bubzjki is the right fit for the team as Astralis has gone ahead and signed a two-year contract with the Danish rifler. Bubzjki seems to be quite happy with his decision as he states that,
“I want to be a part of this team and this organization and this is where I want to play! I had other options, but after talking to “zonic” and Kasper about the role I will have, the ambitions of the team, and how they work I am convinced I can contribute to the team and I can become a better player.”
As for JUGi, he is was a bit disappointed but respected Astralis’ decision stating that he is glad to have gotten an opportunity to play with them. He further says, “I am convinced I could have done more here and I am confident I can contribute to any team. The stay here has only confirmed to me, this is what I want to do and I look forward to playing for another team.”
Astralis is all ready to start their preparation for the upcoming season from Monday onwards with an off-site Team Bootcamp. The current Astralis seven-man roster is as follows,
- Emil “Magisk” Reif
- Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
- Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen
- Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
- Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz
- Lucas “gla1ve” Rossander [On Leave]
- Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth [On Leave]
