- Natus Vincere's psychologist explains why s1mple and Boombl4 were made the captain and IGL respectively, after Zeus' departure.
- He lists a couple of qualities s1mple has which makes him an ideal captain while revealing that Boombl4's perseverance makes him a good in-game leader.
- He reveals that despite each player having their own distinctive roles there is still conflict from time-to-time, but nothing is bigger than their aim to be the best.
Gleb Surabekiants, who works as a sports psychologist with the Ukrainian esports organization Na’Vi, while talking about the team’s current in-game atmosphere explained why Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev was made the captain while Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov became the in-game leader (IGL) for Na’Vi after Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko’s departure, in an interview with HLTV.
Gleb explained that as s1mple is titled the best player in the world, he assumed captainship of the side, further stating that “s1mple is a very determined and hardworking individual who never allows people to slack much. He tries to keep the tempo, ensuring everyone gives their all and dedicates their best,” all of these qualities qualify him as the ideal captain.
While Boombl4 was made the in-game leader after working with Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy, Natus Vincere’s coach, who noticed that Boombl4 had a lot of perseverance in him, and that “when the team sees how hard a person is trying, then the guys are happy to support him and assist him because they see he isn't allowing himself to slack.”
He further clarified that no one on the team had any contradictions and that Denis "electronic" Sharipov also helps Boombl4 in-game when needed, “He frequently helps the team better understand the game, and as a playmaker, he offers ideas in-game and helps Kirill with calls.”
Despite there being a distinction of roles between the players “occasionally there are conflicts that come up, but that's inevitable,” says Gleb who states that these conflicts lose meaning as “they are minuscule in the context of the team’s ambition to write esports history.”
Apart from this, the psychologist spoke at length about a lot of other things like his role within the team, best practices, his time with both Zeus and Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, his hand in Ilya 'Perfecto' Zalutskiy's selection, and a few other things.
Na’Vi has had a fairly good start to the year placing 2nd at ICE Challenge 2020 while entering the race for Intel Grand Slam Season 3 with a victory at IEM Katowice 2020, and though the team failed to make it to the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 11 - Europe, Na’Vi is still looking stronger than ever before.
