One of the best AWPers to have ever graced CS:GO Kenny “kennyS” Schrub revealed the secret behind his AWPing style in an interview with Dexerto saying that,
“I have a really unique style and I think I’ve made it myself by having the experience of playing multiple games (FPS mostly) where I was handling the sniper really well such as DoD, TF2, CS 1.5/1.6 so I think I’ve learnt from all of those games to finally ending up with my own style.”
The player goes on to talk about how he “brought a new way to play that weapon on CS” and it is something that he is proud of. He also revealed that he had no idol growing as a CS player and that markeloff was the one he liked the most.
KennyS discussed how he is learning by watching other players, especially dev1ce because of him having the exact opposite game style than his, as he goes on to say “it’s always interesting to know your opponent’s patterns and moves!”
He further pointed out that 100Thieves are the most annoying opponent for him to play against while dev1ce was “without any doubt” the best AWPer in the world right now.
He goes on to discuss more stuff like, how important is it for an AWPer to be also skilled with a rifle, how did he adjust to the AWP nerf, and the future of G2 Esports in 2020, amongst other things.
