The European esports organization Team Secret announced the benching of Rigon “rigoN” Gashi today due to the player having “busy educational schedule”.
Gashi who is currently 20-years-old has announced via a Tweet that he needs some time off Counter-Strike as he needs to focus on finishing his studies. He also went on to mention that in his absence Team Secret is trying out a replacement, with more update on the situation being announced in the near future.
Team Secret made a comeback to Counter-Strike last year after signing a less experienced rookie side. Since then the team has gone on to participate in a few qualifiers without attaining a huge success.
Their recent outing at DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020: European Qualifier saw them make their way past the Open Qualifiers before being defeated in the opening match of the Closed Qualifier against Heroic. They did give a good fight before going down, but it was clear as day that the team really needs to put in more work before they can attain something substantial.
