The Group Stage of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2019 came to an end today with all the eight teams being finalised for the Playoffs. While four teams had already made their way through on the first day itself, four more teams qualified today, but the day was not all happy as eight teams were also eliminated from the tournament.

Here is a quick recap of all the action that took place on the second day of the tournament,

It was a long day with eight best-of-three match-ups taking place, each one of them translating to a do-or-die situation. At the end of the group stage, this is how the points table of all the four groups look like.

Absolute made it through to the playoffs on the back of a ‘2-0’ victory against YaLLa Esports. Though the team from the Middle East was able to take down Absolute on Mirage yesterday, it was a whole different ball game today as the Japanese squad took them down comfortably securing revenge and a slot in the top eight.

Group - B witnessed AUGUST taking down one of the favourites to qualify for the playoffs Alpha Red. The Thai line-up was defeated in back-to-back games on Overpass and Train, as AUGUST made quick work of them to move on to the next stage.

Demise looked really strong in the first game against Ground Zero Gaming, taking them down quite comfortably to move on the next stage, but it was not easy an easy victory for them as GZG fought back hard in the second map, taking the game into overtime. But Demise somehow managed to lock down another victory to book themselves a slot in the playoffs.

The last match of the day witnessed Entity Gaming go up against Bren Esports yet again. Probably the most closely contested best-of-three series of the tournament, Entity gave Bren hell, they equalised the score after losing the first map, taking the game to a decider on Train. Finding themselves in a similar scenario as before, Entity put up a better fight but could not change the outcome as Bren defeated them ‘2-1’ to move on to the playoffs.

With this, the day came to an end as TYLOO, Absolute, MVP PK, AUGUST, B.O.O.T-d[S], Demise, ViCi Gaming, and Bren Esports move on to face each other in the playoffs starting tomorrow, the schedule and match-up for which is as follows,
