Well into the third day of DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019, a tournament which has seen way too many upsets, just witnessed another shocker of a match as Grayhound Gaming eliminated Team Liquid from the $250,000 tournament.

Hounds Keep Fighting

Grayhound Gaming after facing a bit of a hiccup against NiP yesterday fell down to the lower bracket. Today while going up against Liquid, no one would have thought that the Australian side would so comfortably take down the boys in blue, eliminating them from the event.

Liquid had been facing a tough time in Malmo, dropping down to the lower bracket after a loss against OpTic Gaming and the barely surviving their match against North. But today, the NA line-up could no longer keep themselves afloat as Grayhound hit them hard, taking them down in consecutive games on Mirage and Nuke without breaking a sweat.

After beating Liquid on their map pick, Mirage, Grayhound had secured momentum which they put to great use on Nuke, a map on which Liquid has shown decent success in the past.

Grayhound was never under pressure and played it all out smoothly to advance further in the lower bracket. Both malta and Sico brought their A-game on the field, as they stacked kill-after-kill to secure their side a victory in a do-or-die situation.

Sico

Let’s see if Grayhound can capitalise on this victory and see themselves all the way through the lower bracket and into the playoffs.
