Na’Vi will now be witnessing two departures following the conclusion of BLAST Pro Series: Moscow 2019 as Mikhaylo ‘Kane’ Blagin is ready to step down as Na’Vi’s coach.
With Zeus already announcing his retirement after the tournament, now even Kane joins him after having coached the team for about two years. The former Counter-Strike player from Ukraine has been coaching since 2016 and has worked with teams like FlipSid3 Tactics and Gambit Esports, apart from Na’Vi.
He has enjoyed a lucrative career with all the three teams, having been a part of Gambit Esports when they won the PGL Major Krakow 2017.
Kane came to Na’Vi along with Zeus when he returned to Na’Vi after almost a year. And now with Zeus retiring, even Kane has dropped the white flag. The replacement for both will be announced after the Moscow tournament.
Kane went on to say a few things.
“I have to admit 2019 was not the most successful in terms of results. Unfortunately, the main goal — winning a Major — remained unfulfilled. I will keep the memories of 2018, which I consider a successful year, and will be glad that some of the cups in NAVI museum are there in part due to my work.
I want to wish the fans to keep calm, the backbone of the team is young guys, and their path is still ahead of them. I am sure the next Major will see the squad fighting for the win. I will be happy to see everyone in Moscow at my last tournament in NAVI uniform.”
Na’Vi’s Esport Director, Andril ‘Blad3’ Gorodenskyi said that,
“Earlier, a legendary captain announced his retirement, and now the coach will leave as well — those are, basically, cru?ial elements of any team. During his work period, Kane had his ups and downs, but ultimately, Mykhailo didn't decisively complete the tasks laid out.
We are not afraid of the big changes: we will turn this page with full confidence, there is a new epoch of CS:GO Natus Vincere team waiting for us.”
Let’s see what changes come Na’Vi’s way after the conclusion of BLAST Pro Series: Moscow 2019.
