The second semifinal came to an end with Astralis making its way to the finals, ready to face off against AVANGAR. The Danes were unstoppable today as they took down NRG in a straight-set, following amazing performances by device and Xyp9x on the rifles while dupreeh and Magisk worked their magic in clutch situations, but the true mastermind behind their success was none other than gla1ve, leading the pack to the finale once again.

One Series Away From A Hattrick

Train
Astralis - 16
NRG - 10

The face-off between the two teams started on Train, NRG’s map pick. But Astralis being a good team on the map themselves were not too uncomfortable playing on it. And they soon showed their prowess on the map as they went on to win eight straight rounds right off the bat and ended the first half with a big lead.

NRG did try to catch up but Astralis proved to be quite challenging on their T-side as well, closing out the map in their favour and taking NRG onto their map pick, Overpass.

Overpass
Astralis - 16
NRG - 9

It was quite a surprise to see Astralis not pick Vertigo, a map on which the team has proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Having defeated Liquid on Overpass yesterday, the Danes had a good grip of the map, as they pummeled NRG quite hard in the first half.

And this time NRG couldn’t even put up a worthy fight in the second half going down against Astralis for the second time in a row.

It was a great effort by NRG but Astralis just outplayed them in all departments. Brehze was a monster across all the maps but could not pull it off single-handedly.

Let’s see how the Danes do against AVANGAR in the finals tomorrow. Do Astralis reclaim their throne or will the CIS dark horse complete its dream journey?
